Mid-autumn 2008

Mooncake caregroup group photo :p

Haha, lantern and mooncake season last week.. Ever wondered where the story of mooncake started? Of course there's this legend / myth about Chang 'Er who drank the elixir of life to save her people from her husband's tyrannical rule, and hence became the lady on the moon. The historical version which I find to be more logical is that the rebel leader in China found out that Mongols do not eat mooncakes, and hence managed to trick the emperor into distributing mooncakes with secret messages stored inside for fellow rebels, "Kill the Mongols on the 15th of the 8th lunar month.". This apparently led to the eventual downfall of the Mongol dynasty, and China was free.
Me and my lantern :p
Evolution to become tanglung monster lolz
Fulamak.. like Transformers :p

An evening in JB

It's Labour day (ie holiday!), so I went on a bit of a haphazard attempt to capture sunset photos in the evening, something which I hadn't got the opportunity to do (would had loved to joined a fellow Sunway CF friend on the Monash library rooftop back then).. well, I guess, no thanks to somebody, I almost managed kill 2 birds with 1 stone (ie I fulfilled my 1 week exercise requirement in 20 minutes), and nearly got a the perfect JB sunset photo (can be improved, if I had made it to that perfect spot at the right time, and by the way; I want a new camera!!)):p lolz but along the way I managed to snap some photos I didn't really expect to capture lar..

I guess 1 thing I learnt is that there are times when a once in a lifetime opportunity comes by, if you feel like wanting to do something about it, even if not all your requirements / expectations fit in perfectly, just go for it (provided it's not something which is wrong lar).. you might just be amazed at what comes your way. So here are pix from my walk (or should I say 'run' :p) along the way from Samudera to a spot on Jalan Abu Bakar and back..

p/s: Now I have a headache, hurting feet and a sprained toe.

Addendum: Another photo which I took last time around. Rather blur though, but I like this one..

Season of giving

October was Appreciation month for church leaders. In conjunction with that and Christmas (CG and CF), I decided to break out of the norm of sending cards or buying presents.

Esther (Anna's sister): With so many Christmas gifts to wrap, I think I can open a gift wrapping shop already.
Me: In that case, I think I can open a gift making shop too.
p/s: Thanks Ben for the inspiration (ehem.. stolen idea :p) behind the bottle gifts lolz

On Christmas eve, we had a student caregroup celebration at one of the sister ministry house, everyone is invited. (According to Joseph, brothers also got our own programme, it's called closed house. Nobody is invited. *sweat*)

Anyway, the highlight was the Christmas celebration for Hope KL (PJ, KLCC and Serdang centres combined at Menara Yayasan Tun Razak). Following are photos from them.

Children performance to the song 'We are the reason' by Avalon
