Me: Hmm.. do I know her?
Chris: Yes, you do..
Me: Is she lame?
Chris: Yes..
Me: Does this fella have any association with monkeys?
Chris: Erm.. Kind of I guess..
Me: Ok, say no more.. Point taken :p lolz

Renal clearance

There was this lecture yesterday by a nephrologist from Sunway Medical Centre. He was telling about this apek who presented with kidney failure. One of the characteristics of kidney failure is frothy urine (like alcoholic beverages, because of the protein present)..

So how did the patient describe his frothy urine?

"Doktor, tadi ar, saya pang liu minum beer."

Encouraged..

.. after a temporary moment of emptiness.

The train station was empty and eeriely quiet. It seemed as if the last train has left long time ago. And yet, there was a man, standing at the edge of the platform, looking this way.. and there he was, stretching out his hand in an open invitation.

Looking forward to the CF camp this Friday.. hopefully it will really be a wonderful time of refreshing!

Something not so nice happened today to a friend of mine, but while having tea with him, (I don't know why or how) I was kinda prompted 2 share with him this verse that suddenly came to my mind out of nowhere (thanks to Liang, the CF prez who shared this last week)..

2 Kings 6:15-16
When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. "Oh, my lord, what shall we do?" the servant asked.
"Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who are with us are more than those who are with them."

Waiting to see if the story continues the way it eventually did back then.. Hopefully a nice testimony will come out of this storm..

Midpoint of semester 3

Just as I did last year, guess I will need to rely on grace once again for the exams.. killer paper; with 10 anatomy questions from last year which we have forgotten and wasn't expecting, plus a few questions based on Australia's lecture notes (we haven't even received all our lecture notes - how to study?).. just our luck that our batch is being made the guinea pig..

Anywayz, went for Community Partnerships Placement on Thursday. Mine was SARC (Selangor and Federal Territory Association for Retarded Children), in Brickfields near KL Sentral.. basically our placement starts in July, and we are supposed to go there and help out in community service work while at the same time doing a Health Promotion Project to improve the state of well-being of the children there (basically this consists 30% of our year's assessment - even our exams are not worth that much, study so hard only 5% for the mid sem).. interesting to note that this is an experience that really opens up our eyes to the state of disabled kids in the country; the issues that affect them (eg obesity coz they eat a lot when they have nothing to do, they are withdrawn if you don't give encouragement and praise etc).. They have the potential to go the distance, it's just that they need to be given more attention, opportunities and dedication by their parents..

It's interesting to note that some parents are beginning to see hope in their kids (since they used to be confused by doctors telling them that their kids are going to end up as a vegetable, hopeless etc.. probably it was some local uni doctor from the old-school curriculum..) However, most parents are pretty caught up in the rat race and fast-paced life.. looks like we got a lot of work to do.. no doubt we can't do much coz of time and money constraints, but we shall start small and see how it turns out..

p/s: Other agencies include Spastic Children's Association PJ, NKF, Alzheimer's, Kiwanis, NASOM, Malaysian Care (Prison welfare) etc..

33

The question was why.. Why bring such grief to the world? Wasn't there a light that was supposed to shine and bring hope to you? Was there not a single person who cared for you enough to let you know that this is not the way? Or was it something that we all did not do enough for you? For some reason, you who chose to turn away from it all..

Is it about payback? When will we ever learn that it will not even up the score..

Peace. Something we all take for granted too often most of the time here.

May the loved ones of the 33 who are currently mourning find peace, rest and a heart willing to forgive.

To kill a cockroach

.. more or less like 'To kill a mockingbird' :p lolz

Anywayz, what hapenned was that Alvin came back from Penang to find a cockroach in his room (aiya, what to do since you open a grocery store with Milo, biscuits and stuff)..

So he went to great extremes to exterminate the pest..

.. and succeeds. (Aiya, who knows maybe the cockroach give chance only wan..)
All hail Alvin, King of the Cockroaches!
