Day 1 in Segamat

Year 2 medical students have 2 undertake rural placement for 2 weeks in Segamat, so here we are.. hehe.. a summary of what happened today..
So here we are feeling excited..
Yup, Chia Pei is a bit too excited :p
Some people got abit carried away..
Here you have 2 contrasting personalities :p
Since it was a long trip, and most of us woke up quite early, we spent most of the first half sleeping.. well, almost everybody..
In the midst of recent news highlighting express bus accidents, we were actually abit concerned that our bus driver was on the mobile phone and smoking while at the wheel.. but thank God for journey mercy, and we stopped at Ayer Keroh for a break..
Ayer Keroh rest area
Of all the names to give 2 ur shop..
Paper tosai :p
I ordered a plate of mee goreng.. kinda lost my appetite when I found this piece of metal inside it..
2 jokers trying 2 advertise for Ngan Yin groundnuts (Kacang Tanah Cap Tangan).. think they also are abit nuts about nuts :p
Anna with her past time..
When we left the highway, we passed throught the small town of Tangkak, Muar..
When we were almost arriving, Anna kinda fell sick and almost fainted, but fortunately it turned out ok.. combination of the bus driver's cigarette smoke plus uneven roads leading 2 Segamat, not good..
Anyway, we arrived for the briefing and orientation at the Segamat Health Clinic.
..and they treated us to lunch (that's nice of them :-))
So cute is the way Alex eats :p
A view of the Klinik Kesihatan Segamat from outside.
Some computer geeks at work :-)
Ben playing DoTA before the briefing..
Tea break!
Notice the pattern? :p
No comment :-)
John, stop stalking people! Why are Singaporeans like that ar? :p lolz
Segamat town

Since the driver parked the bus under the hot sun, cockroaches started crawling out, and everybody was like freaking out, screaming (esp the girls).. wah lau, couldn't wait 2 get off the bus leh..
So this is the hotel we are staying in :-) 3 star and below :p lolz
A view from my room window (note the railway track)..
An evening along the streets of Segamat
So apart from shopping in Giant hypermarket nearby, we also managed 2 savour local delicacies (eg otak-otak, 5 spice spring rolls etc)

So that's all for Day 1. Tomorrow we are visiting the Orang Asli (indigenous community) settlement..
